Who is Alpha Fern?
Established in 1975, we are third-generation fern farmers, with two generations running the family business today. We farm and ship more than 50 different types of floral greens worldwide. With 150+ acres of cultivated farming land, we are able to effectively grow and harvest our cut foliage, while also dedicating more than 100 acres to natural preserves. Who does Alpha Fern serve?

Our customers are primarily wholesale buyers, retail florists and event planners ordering foliage in bulk. Since we are a business-facing service, we do not sell directly to individual consumers. Beyond wholesalers, our products never go straight to a person or event facility unless they are an entity with a resale certificate — like an event florist, a retail florist or grocery store.

How can I create an account?

Creating an account with Alpha Fern is easy! To create an account, head to our account creation page on our website. You’ll need to provide us with some basic information for shipping, along with:

  • Four references
  • A bank reference
  • A reseller’s certificate

Where does Alpha Fern’s foliage come from?

Our products are grown on 150+ acres of cultivated farming land in Pierson, Florida — the fern capital of the world. We have also dedicated more than 100 acres of our land to natural preserves, filled with wild pines, palmetto fans, wildlife and a bayhead. Our physical address is:

While we are known for our home-grown greens, we also cross-dock or broker items from Italy, Holland, South America, California, Washington and other parts of the world to create a unique blend of foliage offerings

What are Alpha Fern’s hours?

We operate between the hours of 8 a.m. and 3 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Do you work with florists?

Yes! Our pre-greened timesaving containers and Drop & Go bouquets are ideal for creating flower arrangements for special occasions like Valentine’s Day, Mother’s Day,  birthdays, anniversaries and more! These products are easy for florists to work with and arrange.

We also work with event specialists for events like weddings, family gatherings and more. Our wide array of foliage is versatile and suitable for any occasion and/or need for florists and event planners.

Do you use sustainable farming practices?

In 2017, we helped to create the Floral Greens Farmers of Florida, a farming cooperative that strives to meet the highest quality standards and design trends in floral greens. We are also members of the St. Johns Water Management Conservation Program, taking our membership a step above by providing them our data every year so they can monitor the water quality of the aquifer that nourishes our foliage.

Do you offer wholesale pricing?

Yes, customers who create an account will automatically see the wholesale price that’s tied to each product. Our website is designed so that retailers and wholesalers can use it as a catalog when selling our products to their own clients.


What are Alpha Fern’s main products?

We offer a wide variety of cut floral greens, home-grown greens, garlands and pre-greened timesavers. Because of Florida’s temperate climate, we grow more than 50 different foliage varieties for our industry and harvest another 30 varieties here locally. Our number one product is Leatherleaf. Our second most popular seller is Tree Fern.

Because we grow foliage with wide varieties of textures and color variations, we are always updating our offerings with new greens and arrangements for seasonal holidays.

What kind of floral greens do you offer?

We offer a wide variety of floral greens for arrangements, along with wreaths and garlands. We offer pre-greened foliage, like our Drop & Go bouquets, for easy arranging and an array of beautiful greens like Ruscus, Leatherleaf and Cocculus.

Do you have seasonal items, or are all products available year-round?

We are always updating our offerings with new greens and arrangements for seasonal holidays, including Christmas, Mother’s Day, and Valentine’s Day. If you have a question about whether a specific product is in-season, please contact us. 

What are the sizes and stem counts for your greens?

The sizes and stem counts for our products can vary depending on the product. In addition, you can order some products in different colors. Our garlands also come in varying thicknesses and lengths, depending on the occasion or your needs. Wreaths can be single- or double-sided, and two wreaths are included per case.

How long will my foliage keep after arriving?

The beauty of greenery is that it can be stored for a much longer time than flowers. In some greens, you can store it for approximately 1 month with proper storage. For most of our foliage, you will keep the greenery in the box it is shipped with the plastic over the foliage and the box top closed. Periodically, if you are holding the product and it is a softer foliage, like Tree Fern or Plumosus, we do recommend misting it lightly so it stays moist. There is a fine line with moisture though – too much creates mold within the box particularly if your coolers aren’t kept in the 35 to 38-degree temperature window. How do I view product prices/buy from your site?

To view our product pricing, you’ll need to create an account with us — a step that helps us get to know your business so we can show you prices that reflect each product’s wholesale value. Then, simply add the desired type and quantity of products to your cart and check out.

What’s your cancellation policy?

If you wish to cancel a product after submitting an order, send us an email or call us at (800) 313-8827. Don’t forget to include the order number of the shipment you’re canceling in your inquiry.

Can I edit my order after submitting?

To edit your order, look for the send us an email option following checkout. Don’t forget to include your order number and the variety of product you wish to change your order to. It is helpful to include a First and Second Choice.

Are there shipping and handling charges?

There is currently a 5% production surcharge being applied to all invoices. We hope this is just temporary, but we have all felt the horrible inflation this past year and our costs are skyrocketing. As soon as our boxes, plastic, staples, fuel, etc begin to decrease we will celebrate with you and remove this surcharge.


Do you ship internationally?

Yes, we ship our products worldwide, serving the United States, Canada and international orders.

How long will it take for my order to be delivered?

Most products we deliver within the United States arrive within two to three days.

How can I check my order status?

You can check your order status by filling in your order number on our contact form. Be sure to include your first name, last name, email address and phone number along with any questions you have about your order.

What shipping carriers do you work with?

Our shipments are processed and transported through FedEx.
